blog 10

Throughout the classes we have discussed many different topics and had may discussions about slavery and how it effected slaves lives. one blog that i thought was important was blog 8. blog 8 talked about the abuses that slaves had to suffer. the fact that a a white man could control everything that a slaves does, to control their minds keep them ignorant, beat them senseless until they have broken bones, make them work all day and night, slaves not able to learn or have any type of education if they tried to they would be whipped or hanged. slaves were treated badly during this time, they were kept ignorant so that the masters could control their minds, the masters bring fear into their lives so that they would be scared of the punishments, blacks were so used to getting whipped that it was a routine they were scared to leave. They had to obey their masters and have respect for their masters, they had to work all day and night, they were ripped from their families and they never saw them again. their whole life was taken from them. what makes me proud of this is the fact that i am thankful of the fact that i can get an education and do whatever i want in my life and not have someone give me orders or control my life because i have my own mind that i can follow.

We have discussed done many different activities, discussed many situations that have happened in our lives, we have discussed the situations the lives of slaves and the book Kindred. One of the things i have learned about the activities that we have done so far was the slave system this was a system that slaves had to follow this was the life they had to live. going through punishments being separated from their families, having to work all day, having their minds controlled by their masters to keep them in order. throughout this discussion i have learned more information about the slavery system and the slaves being treated badly and unfair. they were treated as if they were not humans like they did not belong to the world. no on deserves to be treated like that because of their skin color or who they look like. I am thankful for the fact that i can be my own person and not have to follow a system and being able to have a voice and express how i feel and know that i am not going to be punished for it.

From the house evaluations i have learned different perspectives of what my house mated think about our discussions on slavery and the book Kindred. They all have different opinions on what they believe or think and when they write everything makes sense and it comes together. I get to see a different view on certain topics and have a better understanding of it and where it is coming from and have that information instilled into my mind. when i read the blogs from my classmates most of us share the same opinions on those many topics and we give each other advice on how to make it better and express ourselves more.
