blog 12 Beatrice

Beatrice makes a wish that she wants to be a man so that she could go in a battle with Claudio. her wish is a sign that men around her are acting dishonorably because when you say you love someone you will do anything for them, Beatrice asked Benedick kill Claudio and he said no. He is dishonoring his word because he told Beatrice that he loved her and would do anything for her. Beatrice feels that men are dishonorable human beings that all they do is slander women and disrespect them, she believes that men are not real, that they are all just liars. i think that she is correct in some form because Claudio was manipulated to think that his wife was not a virgin however, i think that Beatrice feels this way because Benedick told her that he was not going to kill Claudio. i feel that Beatrice is hurt by what Claudio did to hero how he humiliated her in front of her family and made false accusations against her. in my opinion she would not make a better man even though she is defending her cousin she would be killing the wrong person.

  1. How would she be killing the wrong person? Claudio did not have to slander her cousin in front of the whole assembly, yet he chose to do so. He is guilty at least of that much...

I am not quite sure what you mean by "her wish is a sign that men around her are acting dishonorably because when you say you love someone you will do anything for them, Beatrice asked Benedick kill Claudio and he said no."--could you rephrase a bit?
